
Samir Fouad
Samir was born in Cairo, Egypt in 1944. Although he had shown an outstanding talent in painting since an early age, Samir chose to study Electronic Engineering. He pursued a professional career in IT but also managed to participate in the Egyptian art scene. He had his first one-man show in England in 1970 and another in Cairo in 1977. In 2001, Samir decided to leave his job and devote himself to art.
Since 1997, Samir has held fourteen one-man shows, represented Egypt in the International Watercolour Biennale in 2001, again in the International Luxor Symposium in 2011 and had a co-exhibition with the Italian artist Franco Rizoli in Venice in 2016. He also held a major exhibition at Ofok Gallery in Mahmoud Said Museum, Cairo in 2018. His works were exhibited in various countries including the United States, the United Kingdom, Italy, Russia, Kenya, Dubai, Kuwait, Lebanon as well as Saudi Arabia.
