Hany was born in Cairo in 1968 and graduated from the Faculty of Art Education, Helwan University in 1991. He currently teaches at the Sculpture Department, Cairo University. Hany is a member of the Egyptian Fine Artists Syndicate as well as the Egyptian Association of Illustrative Arts. Throughout his years as an artist, Hany has participated in numerus group exhibitions both inside and outside Egypt. He also participated in 5 editions of the annual Youth Salon in Cairo. His works were exhibited along the years from 2001 to 2020 in 40 local exhibitions in Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Gezira Art Centre, the Palace of Arts and many other places. Hany’s works were also internationally exhibited in Austria, Italy, South Korea, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait and Qatar.
Hany took part in various local and international Symposiums. Some of them are Aswan International Symposium for Sculpture on Granite (2015), Bahrain International Sculpture Symposium (2017), Jeddah International Sculpture Symposium (2019) among many others in Morocco, Kazakhstan, Turkey and Germany. In addition to his many contributions to group exhibitions, Hany held 6 private exhibitions in Gezira Art Center, the Faculty of Specific Education, Al-Masar Gallery and Dai Art Gallery.
Some of the awards which he received are the Encouragement Award for Illustrative Arts in 1989 and the Arbitration Panel Award at Cairo International Biennale for Ceramics in 2002. Collectibles of his can be found in Port Said, Alexandria, Cairo, and Aswan. He also has several statues in Universities in Turkey and Korea.
