
Amal Nasr
Amal was born is Alexandria in 1965 and holds a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts (Photography Department). She has been teaching at the Faculty of Fine Arts ever since she graduated in 1988 and holds a master’s degree in Photography (1993) and a PhD in Philosophy (2000).
Amal has held 17 solo exhibitions both inside and outside Egypt along the years from 1990 to 2016 at Palace of Culture Shatibi, Center of Arts in Zamalek, Almashrabia Gallery, Mahmoud Said Museum, Faculty of Fine Arts in Alexandria and Zamalek, L’Atelier D’Alexandrie, Gezira Arts Centre, Palace of Culture (Port Said), Road El Farag Cultural Center and Culture Palace – El Fayoum. Her latest exhibition was held at Art Lounge Gallery in 2016. Amal also held solo exhibitions in Italy at The Egyptian Academy of Arts in Rome as well as De Florio Arte (1998).
Alongside her list of exhibitions, Amal has published 7 books and her latest was published in 2019. She also participated in various art workshops in Egypt, Tunis, Jordan and Syria as well as international exhibitions in England, Jordan, Kuwait, India, France and China. Amal was given several awards along her journey as an artist and the most recent was the Scientific Excellence Award from Alexandria University (2019). Collectibles of Amal’s can be found at the Museum of Modern Egyptian Art, Ministry of Culture in Egypt, Helwan University, National Council for Culture, Arts and Literature in Kuwait among other places in Egypt, Germany, Sweden, Italy, and Syria.
