Ahmed Abdelwahab is a professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Alexandria University (1992). Ahmed studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Cairo (1957) as well as the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome (1970). Participating in over 40 exhibitions along the years; Ahmed Abdelwahab held 8 solo exhibitions and exhibited his works in 27 local and 9 international exhibitions. Some of his latest 2020 local exhibitions were at several Art Galleries in Zamalek and The Palace of Arts – Cairo Opera House. His latest international exhibition was at the Egyptian Cultural Center in Paris (2005).
Alongside a life of education and a colorful range of exhibitions, Ahmed Abdelwahab has been a Jury Member (1975 – 1991) in multiple competitions and exhibitions. Among the many local and international awards which Ahmed Abdelwahab received are the Cairo Atelier Award in 1957, the Alexandria Biennale Award (Second Place) three years in a row in 1961, 1963, and 1965, the Alexandria Biennale for Mediterranean Countries Award (First Place) in 1987, and most recently, the State Merit Award in 2020.
A collection of Ahmed Abdelwahab’s works can be found displayed at the Museum of Modern Egyptian Art in Cairo, the Museum of Fine Arts in Alexandria and the Museum of Modern Art in Prague. Other works of his can be found across Egypt in Cairo, Alexandria, and Hurghada.
